"How did you know for sure?" Vitus asked after an awkward pause, his ever statue-like face not betraying if there was any degree of self-satisfaction in this new knowledge.
"Well I'd just love to quip about your fashion sense but there are plenty of equally if not more unfashionable gay men. The first hint was that I've seen you admiring lady anatomy like ten times, and you kept calling Mark 'my friend.'"
"Ah."
"Oh and that handsome lad earlier, you just said he needed a bath and a few wholesome hobbies."
"That was a lad?"

Oh my gosh I totally outed Vitus. I hope you can all still like him. I hear that some people are born straight, they can't help it and we should try to love them anyway.
